“What a surprise. Popular kids cartoon w/a freak who steals Christmas. Now the symbol of who we shouldn’t be. We all want to mellow out during the SEASON. Drs. Tell us to chill. Etc. but the underlying message is – if you don’t feign this feeling of financial abundance we are a GRINCH. We are not allowed to maintain a sense of what we can or cannot do. We have to do it all Decorate it all. Celebrate it all. Party it all. Eat it all. Spend it all. Wrap it all. And if you don’t, its Grinchville and everyone can call you that or Scrooge. But to the pt. of this: Showing us who is going to loose out and if it’s not you then SPEND. Disassociate yourself from the loosers. Make sure you spread the cash around so that no one would ever even suspect that maybe you aren’t raking in the cash. Go into debt so that you maintain the image of wealth. Cutting back this year? Whatever for.”

Actually, I’d like to have a Tahari suit that is drastically reduced. A girl can have class and change the world. There is no sense not… Actually the better I look, the more the cameras will respect me. I can’t look like a dirty little renegade. No grungy . Look at Patricia Hearst….$ and looks and a sleekness will make it harder for people to write me off. It’s America. Nothing speaks louder than a good label. Walk a fine line. Pull the trigger but let your look, my look, speak quiet class. Good sense.
Propaganda. Tell me again how much everyone else is spending. Tell me again how great sales are. $hoot it right under my tongue baby. $o that the $ugar hits my system even faster. Make me want to $pend. Make me want it baby. Want it $o bad baby. I’ve been a good girl $anta, let me have $ome $ugar right in my pocket baby, ooh year…it feel$ good

Subtle. Letting us know everyone else is spending like crazy – and we should too if we are going to keep up with everyone else. Everyone else is normal, we need to be counted in that category. We need to be part of “everybody” “Americans” “the public” “ we” – it doesn’t mater what “ we” are doing as long as we are all in on it. We need a good war to get us back on point of us, we.

Without war, we have nothing to work like stink for. Except ourselves. Whether the war is over oil, politics or drugs doesn’t matter. We just need to have something to distract ourselves from the daily ness of just having enough without grabbing more or cutting more or taking more. The yoyo is out of control. Borrowing, spending cutbacks, fining, lending, selling. There is only so much earth, no matter how much more we make, sell or steal. The concept is finite. As is our lives, but instead we have chosen to graft and chart the $ of the world rather than contribute to the quality of everyone’s ride.

“A SERIOUSLY DERANGED DRAMEDY ABOUT FINDING YOURSELF THROUGH TERRORISM…”

-New York Times

BEST FEATURE FILM

“Be My Oswald from the craftsman Don Cato exemplifies the spirit of independent film making at its zenith. The care and attention shown by the ‘Oswald’ team over the entire gestation of this self financed project shines as a beacon to any film maker who believes that they could also make a great movie. Don and Katha show that with determination and skill you can.”
